Abstract
This paper discusses how we develop and apply a contextual model-driven approach to Web services. A Web service is defined using WSDL, posted on an UDDI registry, and invoked through a SOAP request. To deploy adaptableWeb services, we consider the environment in which theseWeb services operate. This environment's features exist in a structure, which we refer to as context. By adopting a contextual model-driven approach, we aim at developing contextual specifications of Web services. To this end ContextUML, an extension of UML through UMLProfile, permits developing these contextual specifications.
