Abstract
This chapter shows the role of cloud-based IoT platforms in driving digital transformation across various domains. Cloud-based IoT platforms offer scalable and flexible solutions for managing and analyzing massive amounts of data generated by IoT devices, enabling organizations to harness the transformative power of IoT. The architectural components of IoT platforms are revealed. The chapter also discusses the considerations for selecting IoT platforms, including platform types, deployment options, and application development approaches. Real-world examples and case studies illustrating how cloud-based IoT platforms are driving digital transformation are showcased across domains of business, society, and environment sectors.
