Abstract
The transformative effects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) are reshaping various aspects of society, particularly in education. Despite growing research on the benefits of AI tools, educators remain cautious about their classroom integration. A primary concern is that AI may do the work for students, undermining academic integrity (Perkins, 2023). To address this, a balanced approach under instructor supervision is essential. This mixed-methods study explores students' usage and perspectives on Chat GPT in English Language courses through a Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) approach. By emphasizing communication skills, TBLT effectively enhances language learning while incorporating AI. This chapter, per the author, aims to identify ethical ways to integrate AI in the language classroom through 'learning by doing' tasks, providing insights into responsible AI use in language education and promoting innovative learning strategies.
