Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide a complete analysis of the complex linkages that exist between climate change, water shortage, and security in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Its purpose is to outline the myriad ways in which these interconnected problems have an effect on the political stability, economic growth, and social welfare of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. By combining the data that is currently available with forecasts for the future, this review paper investigates how water shortages caused by climate change exacerbate security vulnerabilities, highlighting the critical need for solutions that are both adjustable and comprehensive. The findings shed light on the importance of multi-sectoral initiatives that tackle not only the underlying causes of these difficulties but also the numerous repercussions that they have. This research contributes to the existing discussion by putting up options that are both sustainable and actionable. These solutions are aimed at strengthening regional resilience and lowering the risks associated with climate change and water scarcity. This review emphasizes the significance of solving these difficulties within the context of the complex environmental and geopolitical landscape of the Middle East and North Africa region. It does so by highlighting the vital role that collaborative initiatives that are environmentally sound play.
