Abstract

A Blended Learning approach was used within a Middle East second language university where students presented a variety of cultural and educational issues. The action research study attempted to address these issues in a course for education students. Bloom's Cognitive Taxonomy was used to select the learning experiences for the e-learning and in-class sessions. Active learning techniques were utilized to ensure students were engaged and involved. Interactive, on-line language and conceptual support mechanisms were included to help students when faced with unknown English areas.
