Abstract

The use of instructional technology can have a positive educational and motivational impact in the classroom. The more recent trend receiving attention and debate is mobile learning, especially with regard to iPad use in classrooms and schools. Specific research addressing iPad use and its impact on teaching and learning is only beginning to be available, due to the recency of the development of the tool and its introduction to the classroom. For this pilot use of iPads, we designed project-based inter-disciplinary collaborative activities and implemented them with undergraduate education students at Zayed University, using a student-centered framework. The current paper provides an overview of the activities and presents our preliminary reflections about their success.
