Abstract
This final empirical chapter examines the array of identity configurations, discourses and British Selves over the historical junctures to provide a comparative element. The original contribution of the book is recapitulated in the form of identifying the discursive struggles that have taken place over the three events examined. That is, as a means of summarising how British national identity has been configured, this section seeks to highlight patterns of similarity and dissimilarity between the various readings of subjects and objects.
