Abstract
© CAB International 2020 We summarize the recent evidence of the interplay between vitamin D, its receptor (VDR), and probiotics in modulating gut microbiota in health and disease, with a focus on metabolic and gastrointestinal diseases. While vitamin D/VDR and probiotics may open promising preventive and therapeutic avenues, confirmatory research is still needed.
