Abstract

This review digs deeply into the complexities surrounding trust and security within the rapidly evolving Meta-verse. Drawing from various studies, the paper sheds light on the determinants shaping users' trust, emphasizing the interplay between user experience, quality of the services, safety concerns, and the strength of security protocols. The Metaverse, as an emerging digital technology, not only offers unparalleled interactive opportunities but also emphasizes the necessity of balancing immersive environments with robust security measures. The document underscores that technological advancements alone are insufficient; there's a pressing need for ethical considerations, transparency, and user autonomy. Strategies employing cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence are discussed as potential solutions for the multifaceted security challenges. The article promotes a comprehensive strategy that emphasizes the combination of technology, ethics, governance, and user-centric design to secure the long-term development and general acceptance of the Metaverse. Several research gaps and directions have been identified as a results of this review.
