Abstract

This chapter explores the importance of promoting cyber-behavioral, and social and emotional competencies among individuals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It highlights the UAE government’s commitment to enhancing well-being through positive education and mental health policies. The chapter addresses the challenges associated with digital technology, such as cyberbullying and mental health issues. It emphasizes the need to empower individuals to make responsible choices and develop the necessary skills to navigate the online world effectively. It advocates for the integration of prevention and early intervention strategies, the design of digital mental health interventions, and the promotion of social and emotional competencies. By fostering these competencies, individuals can protect themselves from harm, make informed decisions, and enhance their well-being in the digital age.
