Abstract

The subject is sustainable development from the perspective of Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan to find an answer to the main research question of whether the trilateral Israel-Jordan-the United Arab Emirates agreement on energy and water will impact Jordan’s efforts at mitigation of climate change and peaceful cooperation. For this purpose, quantitative, qualitative, and text analysis methods have been adopted. The theoretical perspectives applied are constructivism, international role theory, and adaptation theory, which helped to answer the research question. It is the statement that the tripartite agreement will impact Jordan’s efforts to mitigate climate change, but with a minimal local scope. However, it may be crucial and of greater significance for peaceful cooperation in the Middle East.
