Abstract

In today’s dynamic and uncertain business landscape, the importance of supply chain viability is increasingly recognized. While supply chain resilience has received significant attention, there is a growing need to explore viability as a distinct yet complementary concept. Supply chain viability refers to the ability of a supply chain to sustain and adapt itself under changing conditions, with an emphasis on long-term continuity and alignment with sustainable development goals. This paper addresses this emerging need by proposing a comprehensive framework for developing a Supply Chain Viability (SCV) Index. Building on established methodologies for supply chain resilience indexes, the framework is grounded in a systematic literature review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis (BA) of scientific publications from 2010 to April 2023. The resulting framework offers a structured and actionable approach to assess and enhance supply chain viability, ultimately supporting organizational resilience and competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global environment.
