Abstract
The study attempts to investigate the impact of prosocial motivation and self-efficacy on innovative work behaviour (IWB) of nurses with and without the conditional effect of workplace incivility. Primary data from 257 healthcare professionals were collected and analysed through both, Second Synthetic Grey Relational Analysis (SSGRA) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). We found that prosocial motivation and self-efficacy are positively associated with IWB. We also found the moderating impact of workplace incivility on the associations of prosocial motivation- IWB and self-efficacy- IWB. Both SSGRA and SEM revealed that the impact of prosocial motivation on IWB is more than that of self-efficacy, and moderation is also be found significant. The study suggests that a suitable work environment, appropriate training, and guidance encourage civility and improve prosocial motivation. Similarly, mentoring, socializing, and acknowledging the efforts of nurses are likely to cope with workplace incivility and promote their innovative behaviour.
