Abstract

This research paper focuses on the perceptions, challenges, and opportunities concerning the employment of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, as perceived by in-service and pre-service teachers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The study applies a comprehensive survey which is structured using Likert scale statements to investigate educators' knowledge of AI technologies, their adoption in teaching practices, the benefits they perceive, their professional development needs, the barriers to integration, the perspectives for the future, and the ethical considerations. The preliminary data suggests an increasing tendency of educators in the UAE to implement AI to improve personalized learning, reform assessment methods, and automate paperwork. On the other hand, a number of difficulties such as lack of training, inadequate resource access, and data privacy and ethical issues have been identified. Through the analysis of these factors, the research intends to present insights into AI in education within the UAE currently, and suggest ways policy makers, teachers and technologists can develop an environment for the effective and ethical use of AI in educating and learning. The research is of great significance to discussions of educational technology because it shows the unique and personal aspects of the teachers who are working in a very dynamic educational environment.
