Abstract
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) remains a premier tourism destination, yet existing digital tourism apps are often fragmented and lack real-time immersion. This paper introduces AR-7ebo EmirARati, a novel mobile platform that fuses augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to transform cultural and historical landmark exploration. The system integrates landmark detection AI models and a machine learning–driven itinerary planner for personalized travel recommendations. In a controlled study with 40 participants, the landmark detection model achieved an 85% success rate with an average detection latency of 100 ms per frame. The AI itinerary planner recorded an accuracy of 85.5% (Itinerary Match rating of 4.27/5), while the AR scavenger hunt garnered an engagement score of 4.47/5, leading to an overall Mean Opinion Score (MOS) of 4.42/5. These results confirm that AR-7ebo EmirARati enhances user engagement and personalization, paving the way for more immersive tourism experiences.
