Abstract
The study explores the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) within the UAE K–12 curriculum to enhance education on climate change and sustainability, emphasizing educators' perceptions and identifying structural obstacles such as training gaps (65%) and infrastructure limitations (60%). This research employs a quantitative survey of 150 UAE educators to investigate the integration of AI in climate education, AI-assisted projects, and teachers' assessments of utility and compatibility with national green initiatives. Research indicates that educators predominantly view AI as a potent instrument for augmenting student engagement, elucidating intricate climate concepts, and facilitating inquiry-based projects; however, its implementation is hindered by inadequate training, infrastructural deficiencies, and inconsistent support at the school level, notwithstanding robust national policy indications. The study presents a conceptual framework integrating the Technology Acceptance Model, social learning, technology-enhanced learning, and ethical AI perspectives, and provides recommendations for professional development, infrastructure investment, curriculum design, and responsible AI utilization to promote AI-enabled climate and sustainability education in UAE schools.
