Abstract

This research aims to study the impact of the interactive theory on second language acquisition, focusing on analyzing its development and applications in the context of foreign language teaching. The interactive theory is compared with other theories, such as the input hypothesis, which emphasizes the importance of continuous exposure to the language, and the output hypothesis, which highlights the role of language production in learning. The study explores the role of linguistic interaction in improving fluency and linguistic accuracy among learners. It employs a comparative approach to analyze the existing literature and explore the similarities and differences between these theories. It also discusses the impact of linguistic interaction on developing key language skills such as fluency, grammatical accuracy, and vocabulary expansion while reviewing interactive teaching strategies such as cooperative learning, task-based teaching, and simulation. The results showed that linguistic interaction significantly contributes to second language acquisition, though its effect varies based on individual differences and learning environment conditions. The research recommends promoting the use of interactive teaching strategies and training teachers to apply these strategies effectively in both traditional and digital learning environments.
