Abstract

This research aimed to explore the role of the pragmatic theory in improving conversation skills among nonnative Arabic speakers by examining how this theory impacts students' acquisition of social and cultural language skills. The research questions focused on how to apply the pragmatic theory in teaching conversation and its effect on students' interaction with native Arabic speakers in everyday life situations. The research problem was that learning conversation is not limited to linguistic rules but also requires an understanding of cultural and social contexts, which many learners struggle with. The importance of the research lies in highlighting the necessity of integrating cultural and pragmatic elements into language teaching curricula, enhancing natural speaking skills in interactive contexts. The research utilized an analytical approach to study the applications of pragmatic theory in teaching conversation. The research concluded with several findings, including improvements in conversation skills and increased cultural awareness and the need to develop curricula to include interactive activities. The study recommended developing teaching curricula, enhancing cultural awareness, and encouraging student interaction
