Abstract

This chapter provides an in-depth review of AI-enhanced mindfulness interventions designed to alleviate student stress within digital learning environments. As educational institutions increasingly integrate technology into instruction and student support systems, learners encounter new and complex stressors, not fully addressed by traditional mindfulness programs. The review synthesizes research published between 2020 and 2025 on digital and AI-driven mindfulness approaches, analyzing their theoretical foundations, typological frameworks, implementation strategies, methodological issues, and design principles. It highlights ethical, practical, and equity considerations that shape implementation in educational contexts. Findings indicate that AI-supported mindfulness interventions hold significant promise for enhancing student well-being and reducing stress.
